There was a ‘ute-y’ version of the 126p called the ‘Bombel’ (Polish for ‘Bubble’), believe it or not...though no open bed. They all came with a little fiberglass ‘bubble’ canopy/cap over the rear cargo area! :P

True story: A few Porsche 924/944s and Chevrolet Camaros were registered as pickups in 1980s Norway by making the the rear hatch removable, removing the rear seats and fitting a piece of plexiglass behind the front seats. This way you could register it as a commercial vehicle, and reduce the massive import fee.
